BOTOX TREATMENT

When administered by a trained practitioner, Botox takes just a few short minutes. The wrinkle-smoothing result can be seen within days, and can last for three to four months. It is commonly used for frown lines between the eyes and on the forehead, as well as for crow’s feet around the eyes. It is a simple and non-invasive treatment that is revolutionizing the science of creating more relaxed looking faces!
How is Botox used?
A tiny amount of the purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria is injected into the muscle that creates the wrinkle. Botox blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, and as a result, the muscle relaxes. As the muscle relaxes, the wrinkle overlying the muscle is smoothed away.
How long does a treatment last?
The effects usually last three to four months, at which time another injection is required. After several treatments, the effects of Botox may begin to last longer.
What exactly is the treatment like?
A tiny amount of Botox is injected, very precisely, into the muscles being treated. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is injected, the discomfort associated with the injection is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation or local anaesthetic is required, and you can resume normal activities
immediately.

MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion is a method of exfoliating the skin using micro-corundum crystals which are passed over the entire face and neck using a wand. Light suction is applied to the treated area to increase the level of collagen at the surface. Certain conditions such as fine facial lines, skin discolouration, shallow acne scars, sun damage, large pores and some stretch marks will benefit from microdermabrasion therapy. Six to ten treatments spaced every seven to ten days is the recommended regime to see significant and lasting results. Maintenance therapy is available and recommended.

PHOTOFACIAL LASER TREATMENT

The Cole Clinic offers photofacial laser treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and achieve smoother, clearer skin. This non-invasive approach to skin rejuvenation works by selectively heating the dermis, and rejuvenating the skin by shortening deeper collagen fibres and stimulating new collagen growth. The treated area may be slightly pink for up to two days after treatment. If necessary, this can be easily camouflaged with make-up. Patients can return to work right after the treatment. Photofacial laser treatment can be used in combination with microdermabrasion to achieve the best results possible. Our exclusive skin care products will help to enhance and maintain your more youthful appearance.

LIP AUGMENTATION / WRINKLE REDUCTION

Smoothing wrinkles and folds, or giving your lips a fuller, more sensuous form or shaping, contouring and sculpting the face can be achieved with injectable fillers. The variety of fillers that are available and which one is best suitable for you will be assessed by a registered nurse on our team with many years of experience. She will assist you with making decisions about which product or combination will offer the best results for your particular goals.

Injectable fillers give the mouth
a fuller, more sensuous form.

Nasolabial folds are substantially reduced through the use of Perlane.

In this case, injectable fillers have been used to eliminate fine lines around the mouth, as well as adding fullness to
the lips.

Products used for wrinkle reduction and lip augmentation include:

Restylane, RestylaneFineLines & Perlane

The products give shape with the body’s own natural material called hylauronic acid. The injectables bind with water in your skin to lift and give new firmness. This treatment gives you a long-lasting natural enhancement. Hylauronic acid is one of the very few substances that is identical in all species and tissue types. Thus, it can be used in many medical applications. This product line is non-animal, stabilized hylauronic acid-based and requires no pre testing. All are temporary fillers and last 4-6 months.
Perlane is used for facial contouring, correcting deep folds and wrinkles, as well as lip augmentation.

Radiesse
This is used for soft tissue augmentation. It is the first injectable implant composed of microscopic calcium (calcium hydroxylapatite CaHA) particles suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Its safe and compatible materials have the same mineral component found naturally in the human body and teeth. Radiesse does not cause an allergic reaction in the skin and can be injected without pre-testing. This product is meant for shaping, contouring and sculpting the face. Results should last 2 years.

Juvederm
This is the latest in dermal filler options brought to you by Allergan, the makers of Botox cosmetic. It is hyaluronic acid (HA) in the form of a colourless gel-it gives the face a smooth and natural looking appearance by softening fine lines and wrinkles, and restoring lost volume.
Juvederm injectable smooth gel employs its patented HYLACROSS technology to provide one of the highest concentrations of cross-linked HA of any currently available HA dermal fillers for long lasting results (6-9 months). No allergy test is required.
Use for all areas of the face. The nurse will determine the amount needed during the consultation process.

Evolence
Evolence is based on collagen, which throughout two decades of use has maintained an excellent safety record as an injectable beauty treatment. It has also undergone additional extensive safety testing. It is a natural product and due to the Glymatrix technology it is able to mimic the properties of the natural collagen found in the skin. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity, particularly known allergies to collagen, should inform the nurse injector.

How long do the products last?
The effects may last up to 2 years, depending on the product used. Results depend on many factors, such as your age, skin type, lifestyle and which product has been used in treatment.

How soon will I need another treatment?
Most patients choose to have a follow-up treatment six to twelve months after the initial treatment. After lip treatments, a follow-up is normally needed after about six months. The procedure can be repeated as often as you like.

What is the treatment like?
The nurse will inject crystal-clear gel into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel gives natural volume and smoothes the surface. No pre-testing is needed in most cases, and a session often takes less than thirty minutes. For wrinkle treatments, no pain relief is generally necessary; however, it can be easily arranged upon request. Any discomfort experienced when enhancing the lips can be relieved with the use of a local anaesthetic.
After the treatment some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These conditions resolve spontaneously in one to four days after the treatment.
